Full Name: Cressida
Nicknames: Cress, Cressi
Age: 17
Gender: Female
Orientation: Straight
Associated With: Exiled
Human: _____, leader of the Exiled
Magic Ability: Echolocation, up to a certain range. Gliding.
Fur Color: White accented with gray. Streaks of lilac line her face and hindlegs.
Eye Color: Lilac
Height (At Shoulder): 5 feet
Weight: 596 lbs
Basic Build: Muscled but not quite considered burly, although her fur is extremely thick, making her appear larger than she truly is.
Permanent Markings: Antlers on her head, and a gem between her eyes.
Other: Feathers hanging from antlers, two piercings above eyes, one piercing (bull ring) in nose, worn leather straps wrapped around her forelegs.
Personality:
As a pup, it had been no secret that Cressida was lively and energetic, always snapping at her sisters heels and wrestling even with her biggest brothers. Although she wasn't exactly the winner of these scuffles each time, she still strutted around proudly, sticking her nose into everything and generally being a typical pup. As she grew, her sassiness stuck with her, as did her slight arrogant behavior. More than anything, however, Cressida grew into a fiercely loyal, mostly righteous, sometimes snappish wolf. She is feminine, but that doesn't stop her from brawling when it comes to protecting her human as well as her territory. Headstrong and painfully honest when she rarely does speak, she has little concern for the toes she steps on. She loves nothing more than she does winter and cold weather, as hot weather greatly irritates her. From time to time, Cressida can be generally broody, and on some occasions impulsive, which is a great weakness of hers.
Mother: Eliseo
Father: Dominic
Siblings: Jovan, Ena, Harland
Other Significant Others: N/A
History:
(Because no one plays her human yet and I don't want to put a bunch of ___'s in the history, I'll call her human Captain just for the sake of the application. When someone names the human, I'll come back and change it!)
Born under Vyviana's rule, nestled between her siblings in the warm castle, Cressida was automatically destined for great things. It was no surprise that when they were all still young, they were presented to guards who were to serve as protectors to the Queen herself, and Cressida was placed into the warm arms of the Head Guard, Captain. Right off the bat, Cressida felt comfortable nuzzled against the man's chest as he carried her from the room carefully, almost as if she were a delicate possession. However, Cressida stayed true to her nature.
For the first few months of their companionship, Cressida was as frustrating to Captain as she had been to her siblings. She snapped playfully at his hands when he patted her, oblivious to the fact that her puppy teeth were quite sharp, and often times during training she would goof off, only to earn a sharp rebuttal from both Captain and their advisory. For a while, Cressida took to brooding over this strict new behavior she was expected to follow, but despite this, she would still curl up at the foot of Captain's bed every night, too fond of the human to stay angry with him.
As Cressida grew older and older, she finally outgrew her immature, puppy-like behavior. Because of this, she began to excel in her training, even displaying her first signs of her abilities as she discovered that she could glide a few feet above the ground, although full-on flight was impossible for her. Shortly later, she found that she was able to use echolocation, a method of calling out to the environment and hearing the calls in return that came from objects around her. Because of this, Cressida was always able to locate Captain in the castle (although she did find there was a range limit to her abilities), and excelled at hunting. She began to train to master her abilities as well. Finally, after years of hard training, Cressida and Captain were ready to completely serve Vyviana. And they did so unfailing, forging and sealing a tight bond, until one night when everything went wrong.
Cressida was patrolling with Captain, padding along at his sides and wistfully daydreaming of curling up beside Captain's bed, as she had grown too large to lay at the foot. Everything had seemed normal, everything quiet, and when their patrol ended, they had gone to bed with light hearts and tired eyes.
The next day, all hell broke lose.
Captain and Cressida were called into the Queen's presense, along with the guards who had patrolled alongside them the night before. There, they were informed that in the dead of night, three pups had been taken from the castle, right out from under their noses. Cressida was stunned. Frozen in place, she listened with disbelief as Vyviana dismissed them from her service and sentenced them to exile. Disbelief and shame pounded through her with every beat of her heart. How could she have been so blind, so stupid? She had been trained to always be alert, and the worst part was, to always use her echolocation when she was on guard. Had she simply done as she had supposed to, she would have known that the intruders were there, she would have heard the unfamiliar calls bouncing off of them.
Sick with shame, Cressida tried her hardest to hold her head high as she padded along at Captain's side, striding away from the castle and the Queen's presense forever. Years later, after she and Captain had togethered formed a band of exiles, they received news of the now famous attack on the castle, and the Queen's death. She had long ago forced what had happened out of her heart, but after hearing of Vyviana's death and knowing that she had been part of the reason it had happened, Cressida could not force the matter from her mind.
Still now she sits loyally at Captain's side, serving with him, no longer brooding. But yet, she has not forgotten the lesson she learned that night.
